PEACEMAKERS Prayer Chief and Patrol teams in the UK and across the world today calls for an end to racially motivated killings, in the twilight of the recent Buffalo’s killing by 18 year old student Payton Gendron, where innocent shoppers were savagely murdered in a planned cold-blooded firing spree, as they shopped at a TOPS Supermarket on Saturday 14th May, 2022.

  "WE WILL NOT BE SILENT" These racially motivated acts of violence are ignorant, savage, and without any true intelligence of the nature and purpose of life, where one person is believed to be better than another due to the mere colour of skin-tone. These barbaric acts by nature show little care for self, liberty, nor basic decency for peaceful community. People you must 'up' your prayers against such killings, pray earnestly for perpetrators, as well as sites and their owners which encourages propagations of these wicked, cowardly acts."  ~ Chief Commissioner Reverend Dr. Palmer OBA AFP

The  Prayer Call this Month will focus around the recent shootings and stabbings, both here in the UK’s local communities  as well as in the US and the world at large.

On Saturday 14th May, a day which started off as a normal shopping day for many going to their local Tops Supermarket in Buffalo, US, shoppers were met with bullets flying everywhere by an 18 year old, who wilfully massacred ten people.

“Something is wrong here. Something is very wrong when you cannot go food shopping without the fear of being killed while doing so. Something is wrong when your young folk cannot leave their home without feeling they have to carry a large knife to protect themselves, therefore they end up killing or seriously wounding one another. Something is wrong when folk prefer  stay in their churches and homes  and complain, whilst their streets are taken over by thugs.  We need to take back our streets. We must let our voices be heard, and not only when there is blood shed.”

In a recent conversation with an old friend we looked at how we will answer in response to ‘what little have you done?’ specifically to do with the area of street crime and violence.  It is easy to sit in the pew, or home, and even to fast and pray.  However, it seems to me that there is a reckoning being made right about now, and that is, the call get bums off seats, and more legs on the streets.

We also need to let our voices be heard in local and national  newspapers, radio stations, television, YouTube,  and other Social Media. Let our disgust about these inhumane acts of violence be heard, loud and clear. “Enough is Enough. NO MORE MURDERS!” To that end I am in the process of trying to creating media, such as banners, T-shirts, caps, and flyers.” ~ Reverend Dr. Palmer

3.00 pm  The Walk procession will congregate towards the front Entrance of the Eastville Park. BS5 6QL [You can park at Eastville Park car park, at Park Avenue, BS5 6QL.]

3.05 pm Prompt.  PEACE POEM by Dr. Palmer followed immediately by A Cooperate round of Prayers For Peace with other Participating Countries: verbal prayers, peace words, chants, drums, shofar and whistles.

3.15 pm     The Peace Meditation Procession moves towards Stapleton  Road [during the procession instruments may be blown or played: such as drums, shofar,  whistles, and colourful PEACE Flags and Banners]

3.30/40pm   The Procession Finish – across the road from the Lebeqs Tavern. Stapleton Road, Easton, BS5 0PA. Peace Chant,  Prayer for Easton, and dispersal.

A Prayer for April

“Lord of Love, Lord of Light, Lord that is Life, and Life Lord

In this Season of new  ‘Openings’

Open afresh for us, new opportunities,

And chance, to bloom, and flower.

Water us, with the sweet fragrance of Presence 

So that we may spring up once more,

Fully alive, full of vigour, full of Praise!

A PRAYER OF PEACE FOR MARCH

Desperate times calls for desperate measures, and, Prayer is one of those desperate measures. Not that it should need desperate times for us to attend to prayer, but, O how desperately our world need our prayers right NOW!

And so, in this season of Grace, we pray Peace. We lift hearts, voice and souls. I pray….

Bypassing the boundaries of age, colour, creed, borders of country divides, orientation, status, age and size. Plunge in deep, on knees, in yielded silence, or perhaps with loud gusto! make that clarion call for PEACE!

Let Peace reign in hearts and minds.

What will it take? This we gladly give, peacefully, generously.

Hearts ablaze with Peace, may we see each one a Brother, a Sister, Mother, Father, Son, Daughter.  One Family under God!

On this 1st day of March in the year Two Thousand and Twenty-two Beseeching, Pronouncing, Announcing, Decreeing, Proclaiming …. LET THERE BE PEACE and let it begin in me. AMEN. Ashay. Ameen.
