“It appears that we are living in desperate times,” says Peacemakers Prayer Patrols Chief Reverend Palmer this morning, in response to the recent civilian and Police shootings in Minnesota, Baten Rouge and Dallas. She continues, “It seems that the world is gone mad, quite mad. When persons aren’t planning to kill themselves, they are out there planning to take the life of another.

This insurgence of an insatiable desire to kill must not become the expected reality for our world.

We are being fed bad news of these atrocities day in and day out. There is also a surge to watch, listen to or else to participate in the most despicable killing acts, through the games being built and manufactured or through the films and programmes being made and produced. All in the name of industry, greed, in an  unconsciousness of psychological disorder.

But in all of these bizarre random and sometimes coordinated acts of violence, we must realise that these aren’t really new to the planet.

These barbaric acts of violence may appear new and unsettling for our times, but acts of this sort has perpetuated the earth ever since mankind yeilded to the temptation of fear, to himself in separation, and away from the perfect alignment of the All Good, the glorious source of Life itself.

And although throughout the annals of history we have been shown redemptive processes, even the ultimate act of sacrifice and service to restore us to an original statehood of love and wholeness; mankind still crumble to the temptation to yield to the wretched insane idea of the basest of selfhood mentality, which is so totally off key, seeking to die and to kill, instead of yielding to the call to live, full, vibrant, magnificent lives.

Desperate measures mean not yielding to the fear of the hurt we think we feel about ourselves. Also not yielding to the fear of being hurt by others. Nor yielding to the fear which tempts us to hurt others. Therefore in true order, we should begin to love value and respect life itself. Then and only then, may we be able to love, value and respect it within ourselves. This would cause us to value and respect life in others, and ultimately,  begin to hope that other people are also seeing life in the same way.

This is a rather simple but important measure, imperiative for the regeneration of our planet and ongoing good of mankind.

In fear, a person plans to take his own life. Feeling that his or her life is worth nothing in this world or at least, they feel that their life is of a far lesser value, especially in the cases of some suicide, and other cases where suicide bombers do it for rewards in the afterlife. In both instances, they were unconscious that the same LIFE that gave life in one existence is the same life everywhere.

At the root of all this destruction is fear. It is not about race, creed nor colour. It is about fear. It is this same fear and total disregard to life which prompts a Police officer to kill an unarmed man, and visa versa, an armed civillian killing an armed Officer. Fear takes on many disguises.

Fear has built and instituted religion so far back that unless man wakes up now, we will keep destroying ourselves, each other and the planet. A person might even say I am all alone, I feel so lonely, not realising or conscious that the life which breathes them is everywhere present. We are therefore never alone in life. And life is always good and magnificent.

Someone once told me that it would take a miracle to change the world, and I have pondered these words for years.

A miracle is a desperate measure.

A miracle to me means that something that is beyond the scope of the mere matter. And you know as I do that us humans, animals, in fact, everything in which the breath  of life has a domain, which is the entire stuff of existence, including things inanimate; yes, you and I know that we fear everything that we do not quite understand, including ourselves.  Have you never heard of the person who asks himself why am I like this, why can’t I stop this?….  And so it is that we have become afraid of ourselves. And this fear drives us to overeat, to get angry with ourselves, so much so that we seek ways to cheat and so to kill this self, in hope of escaping from the lesser we feel we are now, because of the false illusion self we think we should be, or have, or gain or become.

Love, Value and Appreciate life FIRST

But I encourage us all, including myself, that life is magnificent still, it will always be as it is. There really is no now in life, even this newness we speak about so mindfully  is simply like a drug to hide away, to cushion and protect ourselves or else to create a false sense of a better self.  No no no, we must see that it as we begin to Love, Value and Appreciate life FIRST, then life within our individual selfhood, that we could even begin to hope for change. All the praying will be in vain until this action is taken. Praying does not stop anything until the thing we pray for is stopped. However, our prayers can and do influence the good change we wish for. WE must all seek to become the good we wish to see in our society, in order for the miracle of a radically transformative environment on earth as in the Heaven.

Do you love, value and respect Life? In your own body? in others? When we speak of others, it is interesting that people often categorise this ‘others’. They speak as if the life itself within a close family member such as  child or parent, husband and is different in an in-law, a close friend, a neighbour, a workmate, the person we meet on the bus, the doctor, or the distant person of another tribe and country. And so you can begin to see that it is truly only as mankind is sent back to the drawing-board, ego-free, to begin again. To look and see Life in Its totality, fairness, opulence, magnificence, beauty, fullness, allness, and okness. Only then, will mankind catch a glimpse of what he can become, of who he truly is, and who you and I truly are.

Years ago one man tried to decree that this was the way to peace, love, and life. And as we know the story’s end, the people groups of the world back then, stoned, beat, and killed him. But truth cannot be stopped, the truth cannot die. The truth is an eternal concept that will spring up again and again,  even though it may be chopped down time after time.

And so, I resurge this truth again today, it is no new truth. This is the truth that Life itself which is outside of time.  It is my wholehearted wish that these few words, as desperate as they may seem in our seemingly desperate times, that they will make a difference and leave an impression on at least one soul, as so create a spark of hope for a new earth. Amen. Amen”

PEACEMAKERS Prayer Patrols Birthday Tribute and Prayer for the murdered British MP JO Cox

WP_20160622_12_45_16_Pro

Bunches of yellow orchids in a large ornate vase, a set of three church candles, and a minute silence, as the candles were lit, by Reverend Palmer in memory of MP Jo Cox.

The Rev is who is currently in New York for Saturday’s Prayer Patrols, said that she wished that she was able to attend the Memorial event in London Trafalgar Square today and that it was unfortunate that she also could not to attend the other gatherings being held throughout the US.  WP_20160124_12_59_40_ProHowever, in true Peacemakers fashion,  prayer and thanksgiving were made in memory of Jo Cox,  who would have been 42 years old today.

The Tribute

Related image“Birthday remembrance for MP Jo Cox. I light these three candles, each one symbolic of the three spheres of this precious life. The first is for her personal essence which  she called ‘my Self’.  The second, for her role as a Mother – an extension and produce of that self.  And the third, for her ministry, which includes her role as a wife, a daughter, a friend etc. as well as her work and service which she undertook for the good of mankind and in the hope of a better world”

The Prayer

And so as Jo rests in the arms of God, to whom we commend her soul, knowing that she did not live nor hope in vain, we too with hope, as Peacemakers, grieve alongside those that are grieving.  praying hands and candle   We especially wish to remember and pray for her husband, and their children, parents, family and friends, and the global community as they gather in remembrance and celebration of her life.  May Love, Hope and Peace strengthen, and preserve them all at this time, that when the lights of the candles are dim and no more, may the love and hope shared today live on forever.”

“Let justice be done. May the causes for which Jo Cox lived and worked never be forgotten, nor taken lightly, but may the baton be taken up by another with the same vigour, until justice is done, and the equality of the whole human race.” – Rev Palmer

“I give thanks for Life. The human body dies, but the greater reality than this is, ‘LIFE NEVER DIES’. I love this truth. I pray that the truth of this reality will keep our own heart, mind and soul in hope. And in so doing that Life will grant to us in remembering our loved ones which have gone on before us, as not having lived in vain but as even living now, in our thoughts, and by our actions, may see the fruit of those things for which they both lived and died.

I speak Peace now, I let it be, and so it is. Amen”

PEACEMAKERS TRIBUTE PRAYER IN THE WAKE OF THE HORRIFIC KILLING OF MP JO COX and PLEA FOR MORE PRAYER PATROLS TO ‘MAN’ STREETS

Hilary Benn, MP for Leeds Central, Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow, PM David Cameron, Commons chaplain Reverend Rose Hudson-Wilkin and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn arrive in Birstall this afternoon

PEACEMAKERS Leader Reverend Palmer joins with other Leaders and thousands of people in England, to pay respect and tribute to Labour MP Jo Cox. “In the shocking wake of the hideous killing of Jo Cox, our condolences and prayers for comfort, goes out to her husband Brendan Cox, and the couple’s two children, their family, friends, co-workers, members of her constituency, and the peoples of West Yorkshire as they mourn the death of a beloved wife, mother, daughter, friend and MP.  Hers is a precious soul, a valuable member of the human race, who contributed so beautifully for its betterment. Today our prayer is also for 77-year-old Mr Bernard Kenny, the stabbed victim, who almost gave his life to save Jo. WE pray for his  health and a speedy recovery .”

The usually quiet Yorkshire town has become the centre of the country's attention as people gather to leave floral tributes in Market Square

“WE are living in an age and season where the availability and access to guns are easily available; where there is a lack of respect for life, and where if ever a time we need an acceleration for prayer, it is NOW.” BBC UK News report HERE

Thousands of people stood solemnly in silence in Parliament Sqaure in London, to remember the MP“Peacemakers are relentless praying  the change we wish to see for our world.  LOVE, HOPE and PEACE is our charge for this year, and we are resolved to see this through. I grieve with those who mourn the death of our loved ones, but will not give in to these barbaric acts of violence and the killing of innocent people. We will press on in ardent prayer, in spite of this. We are also praying for the perpetrator, it is obvious that he needs help. So we pray that he will now get this help even though it will come too late to save Mrs Cox.”

“I urge communities to ‘man’ our streets with Prayer Patrols and use this sombre occasion to send out this appeal for Justice and safer streets, everywhere.

Prayer Patrols often meet and pray with people, some ‘on the edge’, and if there are obvious signs of serious mental issues, we try as best as we can to encourage them to seek further professional help. But by being available to listen to the cares, frustrations, and concerns of people on the streets have helped combat a whole lot of crimes over the years.

I remember a few years ago, a small band of us going out in Bristol, street crime was on the increase then.  We met a man who had just been released from prison 4 months previously,  he was armed to commit a violent crime on another man that he said had ‘p…ed him off’ earlier that day.  I watched as a few of the older women in the group prayed with him, they pleaded with him, and basically loved him through his anger until it subsided, and he had a change of heart. This was just one case, but I dread to think what might have happened had we not been out there. Who knows perhaps a wife, a mother and her children would be in mourning as we are today? ”

light-up-the-darkness

“…….and so, may our Prayers ‘light up the darkness’,  bringing comfort to those mourning the loss of loved ones, healing to broken lives, and helping to kerb the destitute minds of the perverted, by sowing seeds these tiny seeds of hope and peace to lighten our world.”

PEACEMAKERS in LANSING, Michigan’s Capital

Declaring Peace on the steps of Lansing Capital Hall

Lansing /ˈlænsɪŋ/ is the capital of the US state of Michigan. It is located mostly in Ingham County, although portions of the city extend west into Eaton County and north into Clinton County.

Did You Know?

  • The overall crime rate in Lansing is 44% higher than the national average.
  • For every 100,000 people, there are 11.66 daily crimes that occur in Lansing.
  • Lansing is safer than 9% of the cities in the United States.
  • In Lansing you have a 1 in 24 chance of becoming a victim of any crime.
  • The number of total year over year crimes in Lansing has decreased by 6%.

According to a report  by Kyle FeldscherKyle Feldscher | kylefeldscher@mlive.com

in 2014 Lansing crime rate increased in 2013 but police chief says incidents are down this year.  He said the 2013 crime rate for both violent crime and property crime were far above the Michigan averages and increased from 2012. Violent crimes per 100,000 people, more than double Michigan’s violent crime rate of 449.9 violent crimes per 100,000 people.  He said the Violent Crime Initiative — a collaboration between federal, state, county and local law enforcement — has helped stem that tide. In 2014, it appeared that crime was trending down.

Yankowski also said the city has seen decreases in violent and property crime, due to the police department’s work with business watches, neighborhood watches and school watches. He added that the department’s outreach into schools — especially the Gang Resistant Education And Training (GREAT) program — would mean less crime in the future.

“We trained eight police officers to go into middle schools and teach curriculum to kids about making good choices, about not joining gangs and not resorting to violence,” Yankowski said. “It’s the second school year teaching that program. We expect that extension, reaching out to our youth, to pay dividends.”

Since that report, it appears that crime has decreased some 6%. Perhaps due to prayers too? See article below….

PEACEMAKERS Prayer Patrols Blessing the City of Detroit

SATURDAY 4th JUNE 2016

Coleman A Young Municipal Buildingcolman young    2 Woodward Avenue, Downtown, Detroit, Michigan.spirit of detroit

Peacemakers Chief, Reverend Palmer, will be joined by residents of the City of Detroit, as well as visitors from several other Cities in Michigan, USA, to Prayer patrol within the vicinity of The City Hall for the purpose of Releasing and Blessing the City and it’s people. The event will start with prayer and praise 1pm,  close to City Hall.

The Rev’s Prayer

“There has been a ton load of petition, supplication and all sort of prayerful activities with certain amount of evangelism going on within this area over the years, along with many of these well meaning, goodwill ventures, and entwined within their programmes, has been the subtle hint of the ego, and a mega-fest of infighting for ownership of the presumed results.  This way of doing things is so putrid to the taste bud of a Holy God, and the way of Grace, that there remaineth the seeds of greed, conspiracy, corruption and a false sense of self-righteousness. No-one has the monopoly on God. No. Not a man, not a woman. Not a class nor creed. Not the Church and certainly not the state. We cannot outwit His righteous decrees. We cannot manipulate His hand to work within our set programmes nor our manmade schemes, for the sake of our lust and the intent of some grand position. No.  His Way Is perfect. His Way is Just and Right. It hath been declared ‘not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit’…and Spirit doth not need help. It is only as we are willing to align and attune with The Spirit of Life in God that true transformation happens.  By true transformation, meaning, where no one person, (that includes me) can be attributed the glory.  I think that for too long the spirit of Detroit has been glorified.city Hall atlas                               And it is about time that the Spirit of God is the true Spirit IN Detroit. I say Let it be so dear Lord. Amen.”

EASTER BUNNIES? Prayer Patrols in Bristol’s Shopping Malls and Suburbs

Teams of Prayer Patrols will once again be seen on walkabouts around the streets of Bristol, over the Easter Holidays.

ppwiderThe first Team is set to carry out their Patrols in the Borough of Easton on (Maundy) Thursday 24th March 2016. They will begin at 5 pm at the bottom Warrick Avenue/Fox Road, at the very spot where they held their first Prayer Vigil.  This was also the launch pad for the Respect4Life March in 2005, in respect of Taxi driver Colin Winstone, husband and father of two that was robbed and brutally stabbed to death. BBC NEWS.

Then in lieu of the tragedy, the Reverend Palmer and members of her tiny Patrol Team at the time, kept vigil daily during the investigative process; and thankfully the perpetrator was brought to justice.  After this, the teams stayed in place and working with other groups and alongside the police, continued to patrol the area.  They were out sometimes up to 4 times per week and several times during a given day, depending on the crime statistics of the day. The area has improved a lot since then.

Somalians join with Patrols in a March for Peace 2010

Whilst the new Patrols will not be going out in order to deal with street crime, in particular, they have made it clear that they are nonetheless just as effective in creating transformation and Peaceful communities, by being a visible presence of inspiration, motivation and Blessing in any area they physically patrol.  Through this website Peacemakers Prayer Patrols have become global agents of change, by creating a service for people to leave their PRAYER REQUESTS and get support at any time.

The ‘Easter Bunnies’ second Prayer Patrol will be on (Good) Friday 25th March 2016, in the St. Paul’s area, starting at Midday outside the Learning Center on Grosvenor Road and ending around 3 pm outside Hamilton House on Stokes Croft.   St Paul’s was the ‘Home ground’ for Prayer Patrols. The Bristol Peace Embassy office and base for all their indoor activities also located here.  See Our History, also the links: Prayer Patrol in the News, and  Bristol M Shed Museum Archives of Prayer Patrol. “St Paul’s has been totally revamped in terms of violent street crime and community safety”.   Says the Rev, “And I am really looking forward to this one.  It should be really interesting”.

The third and final Patrol in this series will take place around the main Shopping Malls in Broadmead and Cabot Circus on (Easter) Saturday 26th March 2016, from 1 pm to 3 pm. Then later at night, the will patrol the Quay, one of Bristol’s main Nightlife, starting at 9 pm.

Bless our cityThe Rev is asking anyone who is interested in going out with a team to get in touch first, either by using the CONTACT US below or by email to peacemakersprayerpatrol@gmail.com

“Our mandate for this year 2016 is to reach the whole world”,  says  Reverend Palmer Chief Commissioner of her hopeful band of Peacemakers Prayer Patrollers.  “I have been commissioned to pray three things for the world this year. These three things are Love Hope and Peace, in that order.”

“Together let us pray for a world where where we begin to learn to love ourselves, with the desire to love others in the same way, then ultimately seeing every person through the eyes of LOVE. This is my Hope on our  journey to Peace.”

     Bristol Prayer Patrol

The  Bristol Prayer Patrol Team has been under the radar in the UK for the past two years.  However they have not been completely out of Service during that time but have been involved in various Peace Projects in West Palm Beach, radio, patrols and presentations in Detroit,  and spotted in other regions of the US.

    cropped-logo.png

On New Years Day 2016 The Rev as she is affectionately known and the band of Patrollers wearing the usual high visibility Prayer Patrol jacket, met with visiting US Missionary Ivy Reid in Bristol and held their first Peace Vigil of the year.  They  gathered beside a large Peace banner on the grounds outside the Bristol City Council House Building adjacent to the Cathedral.Bristol_Cathedral_&_College_Green,_Bristol_-_DSC05688Prayers were made for various spheres of life such as the Civic and Spiritual leaders, Media, Business, Education, NHS and Hospitals etc, Youths, the Elderly, Family and children, Housing, Street Safety, drugs and gang related crime, and the Emergency Services.

A candle was lit by each person in response to a prayer topic.  At the end of the prayers the faithful band patrolled peacefully across College Green culminating on the Promenade where they stood in a circle holding hands for the final Blessing for the City and it’s expected visitors for 2016.
